The Bedford Fire Department recently took delivery of a 2009 Crimson 103’ aerial ladder truck. This unit was purchased from Metro Fire Apparatus. Total purchase price was $700,000.00. A committee of firefighters was assembled to spec out the truck. The firefighters worked diligently determining what the needs were and put together the specifications. As a result of their hard work and dedication, the firefighters saved the citizens of Bedford around $150,000 and purchased the truck that best served the needs of the community and the firefighters.Â
In the past two years, our fleet of ambulances has changed. We have taken delivery of 3 AEV Type 1 ambulances. A committee of paramedics determined the specifications of the new ambulances. Again, as the result of their hard work and dedication, the paramedics saved the citizens of Bedford over $200,000 and purchased the ambulances that best served the needs of the community and the paramedics.   |
